Kanye’s Back for Late Registration
A music review for Kanye West sophomore album
By: Keshia Julien
RATING: ****

The Louis Vuitton Don is back for his release of his sophomore album, “Late Registration.” Kanye West’s production skills are definitely on point as the beats resonate throughout the album are excellent. In this album, he lyrically improved with his poetic flow while speaking the truth about the struggles that we the people go through in our lives. What I found unique about this album was his collaboration with Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine in the track, “Heard ‘Em Say.” The track was unexpected, yet good to listen to. My favorite collaboration on this album is the seventh track, “Crack Music,” with former G-Unit member Game. The song has a head-nodding beat and has a strong “street appeal.” In short, I highly recommend this album. If you have a love for music that is filled with street lyrics and beats that make you vibe while still maintaining its spirituality, Late Registration is the album for fans and others of different musical genres.

It took the government 4 days to send relief supplies to New Orleans. The people were evacuated into the superdome. But that was also hit by Katrina and left inhabitable. They were then sent to the Astrodome in Texas. But there were so many people they were all sent to different shelters. Some were left in despair, no fresh water, no electricity, and no signs of help. This caused looting to erupt, some stole for need and others for greed. For each disaster there are lessons learned. Hurricane Katrina was a great teacher for upcoming Hurricane Rita. Which was a monstrous storm that didn’t become a brutal catastrophe. Hurricane Rita was well prepared with a 4-day supply of food and President Bush was at the command center way before the wind blow. The St. Josephs community should work together to donate money. The sisters of St. Joseph have been affected
